Which one will I be?

We recieved Giada's consular birth report and passport last week. Here is Giada today with her passport. We were hoping to go to California this Christmas but the prices have skyrocketed and decided to stay in Italy for the holidays.

OUTBREAK

A few weeks ago Giada's skin started to become really dry. Now she has develop craddle cap and also extreme dryness on her arms and legs. Poor little thing feels like sand paper. I tried calling our pediatrician but no answer. I even sent her a text message still no reply. We do have an appointment with her on Friday so we can also wait it out. The only area where her skin is not so dry is the nappy zone, I suppose because of the humidity that the diaper keeps in( we are using cloth). She use to have a really bad diaper rash then I switched her to cloths and diaper rash bye bye.

We also recieved her US passport with her slightly angry picture. Giada can hold her head up by herself and smiles and laughs all the time even when she is asleep. She's two months old and changing everyday. You can see her little HAPPY personality coming out.

I hope her rash clears up soon. I've been downing her with creams and oils and haven't seen great results. I'll keep trying.

A trip to Florence

On wednesday this week (11-12-08) our little famiglia went for a trip to Firenze. It was raining in Bologna and the traffic was unbearable. We got Giada ready and off we left at 9am. After passing through the mountains and into Tuscany the sun was shining and turned out to be a beautiful day. We arrived in Florence and rushed to the foto shop's suggested to us, our appointment was at 11am and it was already 10:55am. As usual we were running late (something that we are very famous for with friends and family--Giacomo's fault =) As soon as we got to the foto shop, it was also time for Baby Giada to eat. She started to fuss and we couldn't take any picture that she wasn't crying. I gave her some milk with the bottle and the lady was able to get a picture of her but frowning.
We got the pictures and off the the US Consulate we go for her birth announcement and US passport. It was funny seeing Giacomo with the stroller, everytime there was a step he would lift the stroller and carry it like a luggage. The consulate is located along the Arno river. We spotted it right away because of the American flag waiving. As soon as I saw it, I felt proud and a sense of joy. I guess I miss America. We went in after all the thorough security checks. We had all the documents ready , turned them in and the Consul asked us to raise our right hands and sign some documents and offcourse pay our dues. Through all this time Giada was asleep(after her meal she dozes off). Pictures to come...

Giada @ 6 weeks

Here are some pictures from today. Giada seems to have her routine down: EAT (either from mommy or bottle with mommy's milk), DIAPER change (we are using cloth diapers), after another 10-15 minutes she starts to dose off 1st with a yawn and then her eyes get more and more sleepy. Mommy is very happy that Giada likes to sleep =).

I'm ready for my afternoon nap!

This was taken right before our morning walk. She's all bundled up! Ignore the date on the picture I forgot to reset the camera.

Start of a Blog

Hello bloggers out there. I thought it was about time I too join the blog wagon. Here i will be posting Giada's pics here 1st everything for my friends and family out in California to see. Giada is almost 6 weeks and weighs 4.3kg and around 55cm. Her cheeks seems to be getting chubbier by the day. She is a very good baby she only cries when shes hungry. She had her baptism 2 weeks ago when Lola was here and the gifts are still pouring in, mom and dad can't keep track of all the people. Next week we are going to the Consulate in Florence to get her American passport. She is starting to smile now when you talk to her and she's also cooing. Its amazing how she changes everyday.
